Etymology: Sullivantia: for William Starling Sullivant, distinguished bryologist who discovered our species
Plants: erect, perennial, 4"-14" tall forb
Leaves: mostly basal, long-stalked, round to kidney-shaped with many shallow lobes ending in 2-3 short teeth
Flowers: white, 5-parted, 1/4" wide; inflorescence a sagging cluster with rising branches; blooms June-July
Fruits: capsule with narrowly winged seeds
Habitat: shade; wet; cliffs
Conservation Status: Native
