Etymology: Poa: ancient Greek name for "grass" or "fodder"

Conservation Status: Native
Forests of oak-aspen or sugar maple-balsam fir. This species is relatively rare and most of our collections are old and lack good data. Sometimes treated as P. saltuensis var. languida (Hitchc.) A. Haines but Great Lakes populations appear distinct.
