Etymology: Napaea: from nape for "glade" or "nymph of the glade"
Plants: robust, erect, perennial, 3'-6' tall forb branching near the top
Leaves: 4"-12", round in outline with 5-9 deep lobes that are coarsely toothed
Flowers: white, 5-parted, 1/3"-3/4" wide, no bracts below; inflorescence a many-flowered, large, terminal, branched cluster (panicle); blooms June-Aug.
Habitat: wet to moist; woods, streambanks
Conservation Status: Special Concern
