Etymology: Gratiola: from gratia for "grace" or "favor" referring to its supposed medicinal properties
Plants: erect, annual, 4"-12" tall forb
Leaves: opposite, widest near or above the middle then toward the base
Flowers: white to yellowish, 5-parted, 1/3" long, irregular shaped, upper lobes nearly united at the top and hairy at the base, lower lobes rounded, 2 stamens; solitary from the leaf axils; blooms May-Oct.
