Etymology: Collomia: from Greek kolla, "glue," referring to the sticky secretion around the seeds
Plants: erect, annual, 4"-24" tall, hairy forb
Leaves: many, linear, mostly stalkless, alternate, not divided or toothed
Flowers: white to lilac, 5-parted, 1/3" long, funnel-shaped, mostly stalkless, tube slender, lobes short; inflorescence terminal, leafy cluster; blooms May-Aug.
Habitat: dry, often disturbed areas
