A native of Asia, sometimes cultivated and rarely escaped to roadsides, gravel pits, pine plantations, fields, forest edges, and waste areas. Many of our specimens are from cultivated plants, or ones suspected to have been planted, but the first collections from probable wild individuals were made in the 1950’s.
