Etymology: Arnoglossum: Greek for arnos, "lamb" and glossum for "tongue"
Plants: erect, perennial, 3'-9' tall forb; mostly smooth stems not angled
Leaves: rounded-triangular shape, pale and smooth beneath, veins palmately-arranged on the larger leaves
Flowers: head white to cream, cylindrical; inflorescence a 4 1/2" wide flat-topped umbel; blooms July-Sept.
Habitat: full to partial sun; prairies, woods; in sandy, loamy soil
Conservation Status: Native
