Etymology: Acer: the classical Latin name for the maple
Plants: perennial tree usually 40'-70' tall and 1'-2' in diameter; often with a spreading top; milky juice
Leaves: opposite, undivided, 5-7 lobes with sharply-pointed tips and a few large teeth; indentations (sinuses) between main lobes rounded
Flowers: on a smooth stalk in an erect, stalked, rounded cluster (corymbs)
Invasiveness: Invasive - Eradicate!
Conservation Status: Introduced - naturalized; ecologically invasive
