Occurrence Remarks: "I understand that a specimen from this collection in the Gray Herbarium has been named S. uniligulata var. neglecta. The name being applied on the basis of the somewhat second inflorescence, as opposed to the commonly slender, strictly ascending panicle of S. uliginosa. In the space of a =bout a square rod; in a marsh near Eagle, Wukesha Co. I was able to collect a complete intergrading series from strictly ascending to spreading-second panicles. I consider all the Wisconsin plants of this group that I have seen to be porperly names S. uliginosa" H.C. Greene; "Originally named S. uliginosa; changes to S. uniligulata on recommendation of Dr. C.C. Deam Author of Flora of Indiana" (SCW)
