Habitat:
Extensive marsh of Typha, Sparganium with scattered Alnus incana ssp. rugosa, and patches of Larix laricina surrounded by Toxicodendron vernix, but without Sphagnum or Ericaceae. Floodplain of river but mostly isolated from influx of silt during floods.
Occurrence Remarks:
On relatively firm "island" at base of Larix laricina, but not in the surrounding marsh. Slender shrublets, with 1-2 branches, to 0.6 m. tall but mostly shorter, to 0.5 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood specimens at Lw, MADw. No flowers or fruits at this time.
