Habitat: On partly shaded seepage area at junction of steep slope with the old road, Cornus amomum, Ribes americanum, and with Salix amygdaloides (ca. 25 m. tall, 50 cm. in diameter), and large trees of Populus deltoides.
Occurrence Remarks: Patch of shrubs, to 5.5 m. tall, 4 cm. in diameter and ca. 9 years old. Voucher for wood specimen, Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw. Leaves glaucous beneath; no hint of reddish on either twigs or petioles.
