Habitat:
Wide roadside right-of-way in light shade of open thicket of saplings (Quercus rubra, Robinia pseudoacacia) & shrubs (Frangula alnus, Rhus typhina) under tall Pinus resinosa trees; disturbed woodsy area on sandy loam on undulating terrain. Assoc. with Achillea millefolium, Apocynum androsaemifolium, Linaria vulgaris, little else.
Occurrence Remarks:
Forming a narrowly oblong-shaped colony 13 X 3 yds. Primocanes erect, distally arching, 0.6--2.4 m; floricanes arching, supported on other vegetation but not trailing, often 1.1--1.7 m. (Sheet 4 of 5 sheets (primocane sheet 2 of 3))
