Habitat:
Forest of Pinus resinosa and some Acer rubrum, on gentle slopes, with Corylus cornuta, Cornus alternifolia, Rubus parviflorus in the understory.
Occurrence Remarks:
Shrub 5.5 m. tall, with few stems in a clump, 5 cm. in diameter, 18 years old. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw. Inflorescence held erect, the inflorescence branches red, the fruit green.
