Habitat: In shallow water of drained (outlet channel) 34-acre lake with M.P.M. total alkalinity of 52 ppm & bottom entirely of loose soft, quicksand-like, deep muck. Assoc.: Brasenia schreberi, Eleocharis acicularis, Najas flexilis, Nymphaea odorata, Potamogeton natans.
Occurrence Remarks: Submersed aquatic; widest lf.-blades 9--12 mm with veins 7 to 9 & tips 0.3--0.8 mm; stipules 6--11 mm. Water with total alkalinity (M.P.M.) 52 ppm.
