Habitat: Open marshy area with Ribes americanum, Cornus amomum, Onoclea sensibilis, Spiraea alba, Phalaris arundinacea, Scirpus fluviatilis, at edge of woods of Tilia americana, Acer saccharinum.
Occurrence Remarks: Shrubs 1-1.5 m. tall, the stems to 1.2 cm. in diameter, to ca. 5 years old. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw. Inflorescence hanging; flowers odorless, yellow.
