Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Sauk, On S side of CTH PF, 1.5 miles W of US Hwys. 12-18, ca. 5 miles NW of Sauk City.

Habitat: Small dry to dry-mesic prairie situated on part of an old Wisconsin River terrace, with Anemone patens var. multifida, Dichanthelium oligosanthes subp. scribnerianum, Euphorbia corollata, Geum triflorum, Koeleria macrantha, Liatris aspera, Physocarpus opulifolius, Schizachyrium scoparium, Sisyrinchium campestre, Tradescantia ohiensis, Viola pedata, etc.
Occurrence Remarks: Shrub, 5 ft. 4 in. tall, 8 to 9 ft. across, many-stemmed from base (from having been burned and/or cut), simple whip-like stems w/ stipules, older branched stems without stipules. Two individuals, one cut down, one standing.
