Assoc. for Menispermum: woody understory with Acer spicatum & Sambucus racemosa subsp. pubens, ground layer with Cystopteris bulbifera, Maianthemum racemosum, Circaea alpina, C. lutetina subsp. canadensis, & Hackelia deflexa.
