Habitat: Floodplain forest of Quercus bicolor, Fraxinus pennsylvanica (both var. pennsylvanica and var. subintegerrima) Zanthoxylym americanum.
Occurrence Remarks: Single-stemmed shrub 3.5 m. tall, 7 cm. in diameter; cut wood with unpleasant odor of Valeriana and some other Caprifoliaceae. Voucher for wood specimen, Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw. Nearing end of flowering period; corolla white.
