Habitat:
Area of slightly higher & drier northern wet-mesic forest (Acer rubrum-Pinus strobus with very abundant P. strobus regeneration) on shaded hummocky peaty, weakly acidic ground, embedded within extensive conifer-hardwood swamp (Pinus strobus-Acer rubrum); assoc.: Coptis trifolia, Gaylussacia baccata, Gaultheria procumbens, Ilex verticillata seedlings, Mitchella repens, Osmunda cinnamomea, Polygonatum pubescens, & Trientalis borealis.
Occurrence Remarks:
Very rare. The few clumps seen not all checked for C. albicans vs. C. deflexa. [Lat./long. seconds approximate.]
