Habitat:
Five-acre dry-mesic prairie remnant, heavily grazed in the past & very weedy, somewhat shrub invaded (mostly Crataegus & Malus, some Zanthoxylum, very little Lonicera), toward bottom of gentle W-facing slope. Poa pratensis dominant, Andropogon gerardii, Bouteloua curtipendula, & Schizachyrium scoparium all very rare, Carex 14191 w/ Achillea millefolium, Apocynum sibiricum, Centaurea biebersteinii, Cerastium fontanum, Danthonia spicata, Helianthus occidentalis, Pastinaca sativa, Solidago missouriensis, Symphyotrichum ericoides, & Trifolium pratense.
Occurrence Remarks:
Very loosely caespitose, 14 fertile culms plus 20 sterile shoots forming an oval patch 2.5 X 2 ft.
