Habitat: Gently rolling, wooded upland on top of cliff of fractured blocky limestone (Niagara Dolomite), young Acer saccharum-Tsuga canadensis forest with Fraxinus americana, Pinus strobus, Prunus serotina, & Quercus rubra; woody understory with Cornus alternifolia, Ribes missouriense, Ulmus americana (saplings); herb layer with Allium tricoccum s.l., Asarum canadense, Carex blanda, C. hirtifolia, Circaea lutetiana ssp. canadensis, Hydrophyllum virginianum, Impatiens capensis, Maianthemum racemosum, & Symphyotrichum lateriflorum.
