Habitat: Rank growth on floodplain of creek, deep black soil, with Napaea dioica, Pastinaca sativa, Rhamnus cathartica, and some trees of Acer saccharinum, Salix nigra, S. x fragilis.
Occurrence Remarks: Tree 75 cm. in diameter; bark coarsely furrowed. Twigs very brittle at base; leaves glaucous beneath.
