Habitat:
Sopping wet depressions & shallow water in Acer rubrum-Pinus strobus swamp, assoc. with abundant mosses (incl. Sphagnum), ferns (incl. Onoclea), sedges (C. grayi, C. stricta), Symplocarpus foetidus, & on hummocks C. echinata, C. debilis, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, R. hispidus (exceedingly abundant), & Scutellaria lateriflora. Springy peaty, weakly acidic ground with wet depressions, drainage ways, & streamlets.
Occurrence Remarks:
Dead lvs. to 1.47 m long. Extremely abundant locally in wetter areas.
