Locality:
United States, Wisconsin, Richland, 4.7 km. SE of Gotham, Hwy 14 at Bear Creek bridge; Roadside slope between Hwy 14 and the old railroad grade (now the Pine River Trail for hiking/biking), at the SW side of the highway bridge over Bear Creek
Occurrence Remarks:
Colony or population of several dozen clumps, to 1.5 m. tall. Old stems from the previous year present. I had not previously noticed this species here despite passing by many hundreds of times since the 1960s. Flowers odorless; sepals yellow-green with yellow margin; petals yellow; anthers very dark brown, nearly black; style yellow-green.
