Habitat: Quercus velutina-Q. alba-Juglans cinerea savanna on fairly steep, S-facing sandy slope with occasional sandstone ledges & boulders. Assoc.: Ageratina altissima, Amphicarpaea bracteata, Carya cordiformis seedlings, Lespedeza capitata, Helianthus strumosus, Pteridium aquilinum, Rubus occidentalis, Setaria viridis, Solidago ulmifolia, & Tradescantia ohiensis. S end of N-S-lying bluff of St. Peter sandstone capped by thin layer of Platteville dolomite.
Occurrence Remarks: Locally common, lower-middle level in center of slope.
