Habitat:
Patch of northern dry-mesic forest on slightly higher, drier ridge with several exposed red granite boulders, embedded within extensive P. strobus-Acer rubrum swamp. Pinus strobus-P. resinosa-Betula papyrifera canopy over Acer rubrum-Sorbus americana sub-canopy, Ilex verticillata- Corylus cornuta-Vaccinium angustifolium-Diervilla lonicera shrub layer, & Aralia nudicaulis –Maianthemum canadense-Mitchella repens-Pteridium aquilinum var. latiusculum-Rubus hispidus ground-layer.
Occurrence Remarks:
Very abundant. (Large Pinus strobus trees measured 28, 32 in. in circumference.)
