Habitat: An artificial spring-fed lake surrounded by woods on the slopes. In understory of medium-aged woods of Carya cordiformis, on SE-facing slope above the lake, with Lonicera cf. x bella, Zanthoxylum americanum, Berberis thunbergii.
Occurrence Remarks: Common. Shrub 4 m. tall, with two somewhat leaning stems, about as large as seen here, this stem 8 cm. in diameter, 15 years old. MEXUw, RSAw. Fruit green, very immature.
