Habitat:
Open areas with low prairie species (Hasteola suaveolens, Eupatorium maculatum, Cirsium muticum) and with some Cornus amomum, Salix spp., Alnus rugosa, Ulmus americana, the surrounding extensive deep marsh with Typha, Sagittaria, Sparganium and Cyperaceae. Sedge meadow on Pine River side of the trail, just away from the causeway. With Onoclea sensibilis, Eupatorium maculatum.
Occurrence Remarks:
Rays appear white from a distance, but seem to have a very faint bluish tinge when seen close up.
