Habitat: Abies balsamea, Betula papyrifera, Acer rubrum and marshy openings with Alnus incana ssp. rugosa, Spiraea alba.
Occurrence Remarks: Slender stems in a loose clump, to 2 m. tall, 1.2 cm. in diameter, appearing to be 5 years old, with 1/2 of the growth in the first year and then later growth rings rapidly becoming narrower. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, RSAw. Only a few plants with white flowers.
