Pocket of hardwood swamp occupying very shallow, vegetation-filled, spring-fed depression with flowing water, Fraxinus nigra locally dominant, embedded within extensive Acer rubrum-Pinus strobus swamp. Assoc.: Symplocarpus foetidus aspect dominant, Carex brunnescens, C. crinita, C. grayi, C. intumescens, Glyceria striata, Impatiens capensis, Hydrocotyle americana, Leersia oryzoides, Persicaria sagittata, P. sp. seedlings, & Scutellaria lateriflora.
On little moss cushions in very shallow, slowly flowing water. Rare; two or three plants at one spot.
