Habitat: Sedge- & grass-dominated swale-like strip 7m wide, perhaps mowed once ea. spring, betw. much broader, regularly mowed roadside & adjoining swampy woods of quaking aspen-red maple-jack pine. Surface soil moist, slightly peaty, dark gray fine sandy loam, prob. slightly acid. Carex stricta dom., Glyceria canadensis subdom.; assoc. with Eleocharis wolfii & scattered plants of Aronia prunifolia, Carex hystericina, C. tribuloides, Hierochloe hirta ssp. arctica, Juncus effusus, Lysimachia terrestris, Osmunda regalis, Potentilla simplex, Rosa blanda, Rubus hispidus, Spiraea alba, Thelypteris paulstris, etc.
