Habitat:
Watery track through Acer rubrum-Pinus strobus swamp, Carex lacustris locally dominant, with abundant mosses (incl. Sphagnum), ferns (incl. Onoclea), & sedges (Carex debilis, C. deflexa, C. echinata, C. grayi, C. stricta), Alnus incana subsp. rugosa, Aronia melanocarpa, Ilex verticillata, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Rubus setosus, Scutellaria lateriflora, Symplocarpus foetidus, & Spiraea tomentosa. Slightly uneven (hummocky), springy peaty ground with wet depressions, drainage ways, & streamlets.
Occurrence Remarks:
Canes trailing, tip-rooting. Immediately assoc. with Dryopteris carthusiana, Rubus setosus, & Trientalis borealis. Exceedingly abundant throughout whole property. (Sheet 1 of 2 sheets)
