Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Crawford, Oak Coulee Woods-0.25 mi. N of DuCharme Ridge Rd., 3 mi. W of Eastman. Near very old homestead site, now overgrown with forest.

Habitat: Second-growth woods on ridge, canopy of Juglans nigra, groundlayer associates Helianthus strumosus, Aster shortii, Rubus occidentalis, Bromus pubescens, Sanicula gregaria, Campanula americana, Elymus riparius.
Occurrence Remarks: Sheet 1 of 2. This grass was hand-seeded by John and Nancy Diekelmann from seed collected at another locality in southwestern Wisconsin. Tall grass, leaf blades finely hairy above; widest blades >2 cm across.
