Habitat:
Damp area but above the floodplain of the river, with large stand of Salix interior, with S. amygdaloides and Populus deltoides.
Occurrence Remarks:
About 10 m. tall, the largest stem 6 cm. in diameter, 8 years old, from center of a large and expanding patch (clone?). Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Leaves green above, slightly lighter but scarcely glaucous beneath. Twigs red, the very short petioles yellow-green. No flowers or fruits at this time of year.
