Habitat:
Marshy area along very small stream, with thickets of Salix spp. and Spiraea alba in opening in forest of Picea glauca, Populus tremuloides, Betula papyrifera, Acer rubrum.
Occurrence Remarks:
Forming thickets in unshaded area, of many slender erect stems to 3 m. tall, 1.6 cm. in diameter, 6 years old. Young twigs yellow, not brittle at base. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw.
