Habitat:
Near ridgetop, brushy area formerly agricultural fields, between woods on slope and prairie establishment on ridgetop. With Cornus racemosa, Juniperus virginiana, Lonicera maackii, Elaeagnus umbellata, Prunus serotina, Viburnum lentago, and planted Picea glauca.
Occurrence Remarks:
The wood specimen from the largest stem, 4 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Apparently spontaneous; many others seen here around edge of fields and woods where obviously not planted.; Shrub 2.5 m tall, forming a loose patch, probably clonal.
