Habitat:
Edge of woods with Carya ovata, Prunus serotina, Quercus alba, Ulmus rubra, U. americana. A few individuals seen in the woods on this property, but does not seem to be aggressively invasive. Above artificial lake, beginning ascent of slope.
Occurrence Remarks:
Shrub or treelet, 6 m tall, the trunk 12 cm in diameter at the base, soon branching (after wounding) into 2 main trunks 6.5 cm in diameter; ca. 15 years old but some growth rings difficult to evaluate. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw.
