Habitat:
Edge of lane through Quercus velutina woodland, with Agrostis scabra, Arabis lyrata, Quercus velutina seedlings, Helianthemum canadense, Linaria canadensis, and Ambrosia arteisiifolia. On glacio-fluvial hills of Cary terminal moraine; soil a loamy sand of the Oshtemo-Gotham association. Rare. Plant green, with 18 erect-ascending culms, forming a clump 34cm across on top; widest (dead) lf. blades 2.9-3.3mm, adaxial surfaces densely and minutely papillose.
