Habitat: Secondary woods of Populus tremuloides, Betula papyifera, Abies balsamea.
Occurrence Remarks: Several stems in a clump (clone?), 3-4 m tall, 3.5 cm in diameter. Stems with slightly recurved thorns to 3.5 cm long. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Fruits bright red.
