Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Grant, 2.8 km SW of Wauzeka, slight N-facing slope near top of ridge and edge bluff on S side of Wisconsin River valley.

Habitat: Edge of young woods of Populus grandidentata, Zanthoxylum americanum, Prunus americana, Ulmus americana, U. rubra, Fraxinus americana at edge of old agricultural fields now being burned and established as prairie.
Occurrence Remarks: Tree 35 cm in diameter; bark tight, shallowly furrowed, almost in a diamond pattern. Staminate; anthers purple at this stage.
