Habitat:
Brushy area with patches of trees and areas of sandy prairie, above floodplain.
Occurrence Remarks:
Shrub 2 m tall, 2.2 cm in diameter. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Inflorescence branches reddish; fruit green. Among Prairie du Chien dolomite boulders at base of cliff and prairie along the railroad, brushy, with Celtis occidentalis, Ostrya virginiana.
