Habitat: A large population on occasionally mowed grassy roadside, without other obviously native prairie plants, on side of Hwy. 60 opposite the steep roadcut. Unshaded, between road and woods and fringe of woods on slope down to the Wisconsin River.
Occurrence Remarks: Ca. 30 stems from a single cylindrical woody tap root. Flowers pale yellow-green; involucre light green.
