Habitat:
End of ridgetop on dolomite, top of Wisconsin River valley bluff. Thin woods of Juniperus virginiana, Ostrya virginiana, Carya ovata, Zanthoxylum americanum.
Occurrence Remarks:
Woody vine looped for several meters over the ground and rooting in places before climbing, the stems 4.6 cm in diameter and somewhat swollen at nodes, with stringy brown bark. Inner half of cut stem exuding a clear gelatinous (but not sticky) substance. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Leaves glaucous beneath (unlike V. riparia which is also found in this woods). Fruit green.
