Habitat:
Floodplain of river, between cultivated field and the old railroad, now a bike trail, Zanthoxylum americanum, Quercus ellipsoidalis.
Occurrence Remarks:
Tree ca. 12 m tall, 14 cm in diameter. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Fruit few, light red, the stage just before turning black and ripe and then removed by birds. A nearby tree had a flock of cedar waxwings (Bombycilla cedrorum) feeding heavily on the abundant fruit.
