Habitat: Near ridgetop, brushy area formerly agricultural fields, between woods on slope and prairie establishment on ridgetop. With Cornus racemosa, Juniperus virginiana, Lonicera maackii, Elaeagnus umbellata, Prunus serotina, Viburnum lentago, and planted Picea glauca.
Occurrence Remarks: Common small tree, 6 m tall, 15 cm in diameter. Flowers white.
