Edge of floodplain woods with Acer saccharinum, Betula nigra, Quercus bicolor, sandy soil.
Occurrence Remarks:
Clumps of plants 1.2 m tall. Rays white; disc yellow, then purple. If the same species as 58151 and 58173 of riverbottom forests, then these at the sunny edge are much more robust and conspicuous when in flower.
