Habitat: Secondary forest of Populus tremuloides, Abies balsamea, with marshy opening with Larix laricina, Picea mariana.
Occurrence Remarks: Shrub 3.2 m tall, with several stems from thick base, the largest stems 10 cm in diameter, but senescent and dead. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw, the wood specimens from a stem 6.5 cm in diameter. In unshaded sedge meadow.
