Habitat: Floodplain of river, just below the old railroad tracks (now a hiking trail). Edge of marsh with Phalaris arundinacea, Ulmus americana, Alnus incana spp. rugosa, Corylus americana, Acer negundo.
Occurrence Remarks: Tree, 15 m tall, this trunk 17 cm in diameter, the other two trunks similar, the species get much larger here. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw; this same individual collected on 11 April 2014 with flowers (monoecious) from another trunk under no. 60981. Leaves much lighter beneath except for some young ones on vigorous growth.
