Locality:
United States, Wisconsin, Juneau, 10.5 km (by air) SE of Necedah, Buckhorn State Park, around main campground where many trees are being removed from Pinus banksiana, Quercus velutina woods on level, very sandy soil.
Occurrence Remarks:
Tree 15 m tall, 15 cm in diameter. This tree with even the youngest cones all open, with no closed cones; the open cones persistent for many years. An adjacent individual (Nee 62067) of the same size, evidently genetically very different, with only closed young (first year?) cones, the scales slightly loosening during drying, and no cones persistent.
