Habitat:
A large marshy area in floodplain of Wisconsin River, with slightly higher dry sandy terrace with Quercus velutina forest and prairie.
Occurrence Remarks:
A single shrub seen of this species, 2 m tall, to at least 3.5 cm in diameter, unlikely to have been planted, more likely a casual escape. Voucher for wood speciemen, MADw. Past blooming, but a few open flowers with white petals. In former Pinus resinosa plantation which had been cut several years ago and the rotten trunks jumbled on the ground.
